Volunteer ESL Coordinator

We are currently seeking a motivated and dedicated volunteer ESL Coordinator to join our team as an intern to make a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve.

Responsibilities:

As the ESL Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing our ESL program, which currently serves 100+ beneficiaries. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Training and supporting teachers, providing them with guidance and resources to ensure success in their roles.
  • Overseeing class administration, including scheduling, enrollment, and record-keeping.
  • Developing a tailored curriculum that meets the diverse needs and goals of our students.
  • Teaching classes and ensuring a smooth induction process for new students.
  • Monitoring the progression of students and classes, implementing improvements as necessary.
  • Coaching teachers to offer constructive feedback and support their professional development.

This role is unpaid and requires a commitment of at least six months. We are happy to work with your academic institution to provide academic credit while you gain valuable hands-on experience.

You can enjoy your weekends and immerse yourself in the local culture while living in a free room with other volunteers in our Zahlé home.

Required: 

  • Compassionate and dedicated to education and social impact
  • Experience working with refugees or other vulnerable populations
  • Strong English language skills
  • English teaching experience
  • Adaptable and resourceful, able to work flexibly and independently with little oversight
  • Ability to commit to the role for at least six months

Desired:

  • Experience in research and curriculum design
  • Arabic language fluency
  • Experience teaching English to refugees or other vulnerable populations
